Police statement #3 on London helicopter crash

Police were alerted at approximately 08.00hrs on Wednesday 16 January
re. an incident at Wandsworth Road SW8.

At this early stage it appears a helicopter was in collision with a
crane on top of a building.

Met officers, the ambulance service and the London Fire Brigade have
attended.

We are aware of 11 casualties:

Two people have been confirmed dead at the scene. We have no further
details.

One person has been taken to a south London hospital in a critical
condition.

Three people suffering minor injuries have been taken to south London
hospitals.

Five people have been treated at the scene for minor injuries.

There are a number of road closures in place following the incident this
morning in Wandsworth Road.

These include:

= Vauxhall Bridge Road southbound
= Wandsworth Road (partially)
= Nine Elms Lane (partially)
= South Lambeth Road (partially)

The closures are subject to change and the public are advised to avoid
the area.

+ Vauxhall tube, train and bus stations are also currently closed.
